This is a free event designed for members of the public clinical mental health workforce in Victoria, (staff employed at Area Mental Health Services, Forensicare or mental health staff from RCH). For example, a social worker working in mental health at Austin Health. Staff from MHCSSs, ACCHOs, AOD or other partner organisations may also attend. Please note, if you do register for this event and it is not clear you are part of the intended audience, your registration will be confirmed two weeks prior to the event start date, or earlier.
Note: this is a 2-day workshop. Participants are required to register and attend both days.
This interactive and experiential 2-day workshop will provide supervisors with greater skill and confidence to facilitate trauma-informed reflective supervision to support practitioners working in complex and challenging settings.
Participants will deepen their understanding of trauma-informed approaches to supervision and their application in mental health settings.
Participants will have the opportunity to engage with key theories and models to make sense of the often complex dynamics and scenarios that occur in supervision and how to work through these to improve practice.
The workshop involves several experiential activities that provide participants with the opportunity to integrate theory into practice though the use of the Seven Eyed Supervision Model and other relevant approaches.
The event will cover:
- Understanding a trauma-informed approach to supervision using the Seven Eyed Supervision Model
- Understanding the complex dynamics and scenarios that occur in supervision, and how to respond
- Understanding how to integrate supervision theory into practice as a supervisor
